Dental Procedures Provided at Michael Kim DDS

Dr. Kim and Dr. Lentz have invested the time, resources, and energy into advanced training and education in order to offer a wide range of services to our valued patients. Some of the services that we provide are:

Air Abrasion Dentistry: this treatment lets us leave the drill behind! Dr. Kim or Dr. Lentz aims the stream at stained or decayed portions of your teeth and effectively sandblasts the decay away.

Bridge Work: A dental bridge is supported by attaching to the natural teeth or implants on either side of the gap. Bridges can be made from a variety of materials that differ in cost, appearance, and durability.

Cracked Teeth: If you chew on hard candy, ice, bite down hard, receive a blow to your face, or grind your teeth in your sleep, your teeth can chip or crack. Poor hygiene and cavities can also weaken your teeth and make them more susceptible to being chipped or cracked.

Clear Aligners: These custom-made, virtually invisible plastic aligners are designed to gently shift your teeth into the desired position, giving you a straight, beautiful smile without the hassle of traditional metal braces.

Dental Sealants: Sealants provide protection for your teeth by keeping plaque from forming in the tiny crevices. Our team often recommends sealants for children because kids’ teeth have small depressions in them that make them harder to properly clean through brushing alone.

Digital X-rays: In the past few years, many forward-thinking dentists like Dr. Kim and Dr. Lentz have invested in digital X-ray technology. We are not only able to reduce your exposure to radiation but also increase the diagnostic proficiency.

Electric Toothbrushes: The Oral B electric toothbrush is great for removing food particles and plaque from your teeth and gums. These brushes are so gentle on the gums that we particularly recommend them for patients with sensitive gums or gum recession.

Fluoride Treatments: Fluoride treatments have two major objectives. First, they make teeth more resistant to plaque and acid attacks. And second, they help teeth remineralize more quickly.

Intraoral Camera Technology: One way that we improve our patients’ dental experience is through the use of an intraoral photograph in our diagnosis. Our patients get to see up close the state of their teeth, including problems such as cracked teeth, decay, worn-out or defective fillings, bleeding gums, and plaque.

Occlusal Disease Treatment: Occlusal disease forms when a patient’s bite is not properly aligned. Because of the misalignment, every time the patient bites down, the pressure on the bite can contribute to progressive issues with the teeth, muscles, jaw, and jaw joint.

Sleep Apnea: Sleep apnea requires careful attention and treatment because it’s a potentially life-threatening condition. If an air passage collapses during sleep, it can cause complete or partial blockage of the airway, interrupting sleep patterns.

Tooth Colored Fillings: The resin used in tooth colored restorations contains fluoride, which helps to fight off decay. The resin wears like a natural tooth and does not require placement at the gum line. This results in a wonderful, natural-looking smile.
