Same-Day Crowns & Urgent Care
Dentist Serving Grafton, WI
Cracked teeth, failed fillings and lost crowns, often restored in a single visit at our Mequon office.
A cracked tooth or a broken crown should not mean weeks in a temporary, and that is why many Grafton patients come to us for same-day crowns. With in-house CAD/CAM technology and CEREC, we scan the tooth, design the crown on screen and mill it in the office while you wait. When the tooth is a good fit, you leave with the final tooth-colored crown the same day. Some teeth are better served by a lab-made crown, a bridge or another approach, and the dentist will tell you which fits before starting. We also hold time each day for urgent problems such as pain, swelling or a lost crown.

Same-Day Crowns and Urgent Repairs for Grafton Patients
Grafton and the Office in Mequon
Grafton is a village in Ozaukee County, with the Milwaukee River flowing through its downtown and Cedarburg to the west. Our office is in Mequon, on N Port Washington Road near Mequon Road. Grafton patients come to us when a tooth has cracked, a filling has failed or a crown has come loose, and when they would rather not wait weeks for a lab-made restoration.
How a Same-Day Crown Is Made
- An exam and X-rays to confirm a crown is the right repair
- Numbing and careful preparation that keeps healthy tooth structure
- A digital scan of the tooth and your bite, with no putty trays
- CAD/CAM design and in-office milling of a ceramic crown
- A check of fit, bite and shade before the crown is bonded
Because the crown is designed and milled here, many patients skip the temporary and the second visit. Read more on our same-day crowns page.
Problems a Crown Can Solve
- Cracked or broken teeth A crown covers and protects a tooth that has split or lost a piece.
- Heavily filled teeth A tooth holding a large old filling can be strengthened with full coverage.
- After a root canal A crown protects a tooth once the infection has been cleared.
- Smaller repairs When a crown is more than the tooth needs, an inlay or onlay may fit better.
When It Cannot Wait
Severe tooth pain, swelling, a knocked-out tooth or a lost crown deserves a prompt look. We hold time each day for urgent visits and see same-day emergencies whenever we can fit them in, including for new patients. Call as early in the day as you can. Our emergency dental page explains what to do with a knocked-out tooth on the way in.
The Technology Behind One-Visit Care
Digital impression scanners, including 3Shape TRIOS and Medit, record the tooth in seconds. Digital X-rays use less radiation than film and show results on the screen right away. For more involved cases, the cone beam CT scanner adds a 3D view. See the full list on our technology page.

Grafton Patients: Frequently Asked Questions
- Where is the office for Grafton patients?
- The office is in Mequon, not Grafton, at 10033 N Port Washington Road, Suite 150, Mequon, WI 53092. It sits on N Port Washington Road near Mequon Road, with ample parking. Patients come from Grafton and the surrounding Ozaukee County communities. Call (262) 241-5558 or book online.
- Will I really leave with my final crown?
- For many patients, yes: when the tooth is a good candidate, the final crown is scanned, designed, milled and bonded in one visit. If your tooth needs a different approach, the dentist explains why before beginning. In that case a lab-made crown or another repair may be the better choice.
- Do I need a temporary crown?
- No, not when the crown is milled the same day. The final restoration goes on at the end of the appointment, so there is no temporary crown to loosen or come off while you wait. That also means no second trip back to the chair for the crown.
- Can I be seen the same day for a broken tooth or toothache?
- Often, yes, because time is held each day for emergencies and patients with pain, swelling or an injury are seen the same day whenever possible. Call as early in the day as you can so the team can fit you in. New patients with an emergency are welcome.
- Does insurance cover a same-day crown?
- Many plans provide some coverage for crowns that are needed for the health and function of a tooth, though benefits vary. The office is in network with Delta Dental and also works with Cigna, Humana and UnitedHealthcare. The team reviews your coverage and gives you an estimate before treatment. Financing through third-party lenders is also available.
- What should I do if a tooth is knocked out?
- Call the office right away and come in as fast as you can. Hold the tooth by the crown, rinse it gently if it is dirty and try to seat it back in the socket. If that is not possible, keep it in milk or saliva on the way in. The sooner you arrive, the better the chance of saving the tooth.
- What are your office hours?
- The office is open Monday 9:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday 7:00am to 4:00pm, Wednesday 7:00am to 5:00pm and Thursday 7:00am to 2:00pm. It is closed Friday through Sunday. Online booking is available through the Schedule Appointment buttons on the site. You can also reach the team at (262) 241-5558.
