MODERN SOLUTIONS
Our Technology Suite Includes:

3D X-Rays & Cone Beam CT Scanner
When a case is more involved — think dental implants, wisdom tooth removal, or root canal therapy — our cone beam scanner captures a complete 3D picture of your anatomy. That detailed view sharpens surgical precision and makes treatment safer.

Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography exposes you to less radiation and delivers crisp, high-resolution images on the spot — so we can spot cavities, infections, and bone loss quickly and safely.

Intraoral Cameras
With compact, pen-sized cameras, we can put what we’re seeing right on the screen during your exam — making your diagnosis and the options in front of you far easier to follow.

Digital Impressions
Messy putty molds are a thing of the past. Digital impression scanners (including 3Shape TRIOS® and Medit®) record precise 3D images of your mouth in mere seconds, building ultra-accurate models for crowns, aligners, implants, and dentures.

CAD/CAM & Same-Day CEREC Crowns
Thanks to our in-house CAD/CAM system, we can design and craft beautiful, permanent crowns on-site — frequently in a single appointment.

Laser Dentistry
Soft tissue lasers let us handle gum contouring, frenectomies, and periodontal therapy with a gentle touch. Because laser treatment is so minimally invasive, healing tends to be quicker and stitches are often unnecessary.

Electric Handpieces
By cutting down on vibration and noise during procedures, these advanced tools make your time in the chair calmer and more comfortable.

Ultrasonic Scalers
During deep cleanings and gum disease treatment, ultrasonic scalers pair gentle vibrations with water to clear away tartar more thoroughly than manual tools — and with noticeably less discomfort.

Electronic Apex Locator
During root canal therapy, this instrument pinpoints exactly where the canal ends, so the tooth can be cleaned out and sealed completely.

Caries Detection Dye
Applied during fillings and restorations, this safe dye highlights any lingering decay so we can remove all of it — without leaving anything to chance.

The office uses cone beam CT for 3D X-rays, along with digital X-rays, intraoral cameras and digital impression scanners, including 3Shape TRIOS and Medit, to diagnose and plan treatment. Treatment tools include an in-house CAD/CAM system for same-day CEREC crowns, soft tissue lasers, electric handpieces, ultrasonic scalers, an electronic apex locator for root canals and caries detection dye for finding decay. Together they sharpen diagnosis, let you see your own teeth on screen and keep many procedures shorter and gentler.
Mequon Dental Arts: Frequently Asked Questions
- Why Is Advanced Dental Technology Important in My Care?
- It helps the dentists diagnose more accurately, keeps treatment more comfortable and can shorten your time in the chair. Digital imaging and intraoral cameras show problems clearly and let you see what the dentist sees. Tools such as in-house CAD/CAM, soft tissue lasers and electric handpieces make many procedures quicker and gentler. The aim is results that look natural and hold up for years.
- Are Digital X-Rays Safe?
- Yes, digital X-rays are safe and use far less radiation than traditional film X-rays. The images appear on the screen right away and are sharper, so cavities, infections and bone loss can be spotted quickly. Because there is no film to develop, the dentist can review the images with you during the same visit.
- What Is a Cone Beam CT Scan Used For?
- A cone beam CT scan takes a complete 3D picture of your teeth, jaw and surrounding tissue when a case needs more detail than a standard X-ray. It is especially valuable for planning dental implants, wisdom tooth removal and other extractions, and root canal therapy. That detailed view helps the dentist plan surgery more precisely and makes treatment safer.
- What Do Intraoral Cameras Do?
- Intraoral cameras show close-up images of your teeth and gums on a screen during your exam. The cameras are compact and pen-sized, so they can capture areas that are hard to see in a mirror. Seeing what the dentist sees makes your diagnosis and the treatment choices ahead much easier to follow.
- Are Digital Impressions More Comfortable Than Traditional Molds?
- Yes, digital impressions are more comfortable because they replace putty-filled trays with a small handheld scanner. Scanners such as 3Shape TRIOS and Medit record precise 3D images of your mouth in seconds. Those images build accurate models for crowns, aligners, implants and dentures.
- What Are Same-Day CEREC Crowns?
- Same-day CEREC crowns are custom ceramic crowns designed and milled in the office, often in a single visit. The tooth is scanned digitally, the crown is designed on screen with the in-house CAD/CAM system, and it is milled on site. Finishing the crown in one appointment means fewer trips back to the office.
- Does Laser Dentistry Hurt?
- Laser treatment is gentle and minimally invasive, and it often calls for less anesthetic than traditional methods. Soft tissue lasers are used for gum contouring, frenectomies and periodontal therapy. Healing tends to be quicker, with less bleeding and swelling, and stitches are often unnecessary.
- Why Do You Use Electric Handpieces Instead of Traditional Drills?
- Electric handpieces run quieter and with less vibration than traditional drills, which keeps treatment smoother and more comfortable. They are used to prepare a tooth during procedures such as fillings and crowns. Less noise and vibration make time in the chair calmer and easier to sit through.
- How Do Ultrasonic Scalers Help During Cleanings?
- Ultrasonic scalers combine gentle vibrations with water to clear plaque and tartar more effectively and more comfortably than scraping by hand. They are used during cleanings, deep cleanings and gum disease treatment. The water rinses the area as the scaler works, and patients notice less discomfort than with manual tools.
- What Is Caries Detection Dye?
- Caries detection dye is a safe, harmless dye that highlights any decay left in a tooth during a filling or restoration. It shows exactly where the damaged tissue is, so the dentist can remove all of the decay. Only the damaged tissue comes out, and the healthy tooth around it is preserved.
